I don’t think, I ever imagined I would be the person I am. I don’t think I am a bad person, or worse than I was before. Things are just very different. Growing up is a very slow, tedious, process. From day to day I feel like the same person, but I look back and see how everything really changed.
In middle school and the years before I was carefree. I didn’t have to try very hard for anything and nothing was serious. High school is different, things matter. Anything worthwhile is a challenge. You realize the person you are, and the person you want to be. The friends you have now are more important, and so are the things you do. Being a high school student suddenly I am busy more than I have been any previous year. Every moment is going towards something.
In middle school nobody stops talking, but no one has anything worth hearing. Some people in high school are the same, but some of us grew up. Some people don’t care anymore about what’s going on this second, or next week, or next month. Some people stopped focusing so much on everyone and everything else and found out who they are. This moment and the people in this moment aren't so important any more, the future matters now. The decisions and choices we make now actually affect where our lives will take us. The last two years in middle school got me here. The next four years will get me to college. In high school doors open, there are places to go. You’ve got to be a different person to get there
